Church of the Good Shephers is seeking an Adult Choir Director for Traditional Worship. This position is responsible for directing the Adult Choir, selecting the choral music for the choir, and helping to plan special music for the traditional service.

Skills/Tasks
The choir director will:
• Direct and rehearse the Adult Choir on Wednesday evenings from early September until Father’s Day.
• Demonstrate energy and enthusiasm for church choral and service music.
• Plan and select choral music for all traditional worship services. This includes Sunday morning services and special
services during the church year.
• Schedule special music for Sundays if the choir is not scheduled to sing and for all Sundays during the summer
months.
• Possess a background in church music and have prior experience directing a choir.
• Demonstrate the ability to lead, motivate, and work with volunteer musicians.
• Oversee the choral music library which shall include purchasing music, filing music, and maintaining a current listing
of all choral repertoire.
• Work as a team with the pastor and the organist to plan music that enhances the worship service, strengthens the
message of the Gospel, and supports the church’s ministry.
• Recruit and welcome new choir members.
• Establish a system to care for choir gowns.
• Communicate choral selections for the bulletin to the church office in a timely manner.
• Make budget requests to the pastor for consideration by the Finance Committee.
• Perform additional services as requested by the pastor.
