Video Message from Bishop John Schol - September 9, 2021
Bishop John Schol, who became Eastern PA’s episcopal leader Sept. 1, met with the conference Cabinet and disaster response coordinator to learn about reported damages and relief efforts for Hurricane Ida, and to explore how the conference might respond to the ordeal both immediately and in the long term.
That response should include funds raised through the conference’s ongoing Disaster Response Advance Special Fund (#0345). Bishop Schol appealed for generous donations and other aid in a new video message addressed to Eastern PA Conference members and churches.
“We’re back!” trumpeted Pocono Plateau at the opening of its Summer Camp in June. “We did it!” beamed Gretna Glen Director Apryl Miller in her Summer Camp review letter in late August. In between those two cries of celebration were two historic months of unprecedented challenges, changes and safety precautions…and nonetheless, loads of summer fun and fellowship, learning and laughter.

Like a good toolbox, this year’s Tools for Ministry online leadership academy, held March 13, is still available and useful. At least 26 of the 34 diverse, 90-minute courses, all provided via video conferencing on Zoom, were recorded. A page full of links to those recordings is now available on the conference website.
