“Happy are people who make peace, because they will be called God’s children.” – Matthew 5:9, CEB
Human Relations Day is Jan. 14, a fitting occasion on the day before our nation celebrates Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. How will your church celebrate this timely churchwide SpecialSunday and share its gifts to support important ministries of social change, youth development and peace-making reconciliation in communities across the nation? Will you make it a day for all God’s children?
How do community outreach, social justice and work with at-risk youth, all supported by today’s special offering, live out this beatitude? What additional things can we do to act as loving, caring children of God?
On this coming Sunday United Methodists celebrate Human Relations Day by receiving a special offering. Human Relations Day calls for us to recognize the right of all God’s children to realize their potential. Your gifts allow The United Methodist Church to strengthen outreach to communities in the United States and Puerto Rico, encouraging social justice and work with at-risk youth. Please give generously! Thank you!
Here is a Pastor and Leader’s Kit, plus other resources for your church.
