We have received word of the death of the Rev. Marjorie Ann Harris, who passed away today, May 17, 2017. She was a Retired Elder, who served Green Hill UMC in Conestoga from 2000 to 2012.
A Viewing will be held Friday, May 19th, from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home-Sullivan Home, 121 South Prince Street, Lancaster, PA 17603.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 20th, at 10:00 AM at the Colemanville UMC, 210 Colemanville Church Road, Conestoga, PA 17516. There will be a brief Viewing held at the church from 9:00-10:00 AM.
Expressions of sympathy may be sent to her surviving spouse, Mr. Ronald L. Harris, at 32 Bridge Valley Road, Pequea, PA 17565-9796.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to the Colemanville UMC Emergency Fund.
Rev. Harris, a former teacher whose home church was Colemanville UMC, was featured in the publication LancasterOnline on Jun 2, 2008, (“‘An incredible joy’-Ordination is first of its kind here”) when she was among eight elders and one deacon ordained by the Eastern PA Conference. It was the conference’s first ordination service held in Lancaster, where 700 people filled First UMC’s sanctuary.
