Former Eastern PA Conference staff member Tamara C. Clark has been elected treasurer of the United Methodist Women’s (UMW) national organization, based in New York City. Clark, who previously served as treasurer and director of administration for the Wisconsin Conference, succeeds Martha S. Knight, who is retiring.

Clark, who was elected Oct. 4 during the UMW board’s fall meeting at Drew University in Madison, N.J. begins her new job Oct. 21. She was an accountant for the Eastern PA Conference before going to the Wisconsin Conference in September 2016

“I am pleased to welcome Tamara Clark to United Methodist Women,” said Shannon Priddy, UMW president. “It is an honor to be part of an organization that recognizes growth, leadership, and opportunity for women. I’m excited that she will be helping to guide the future of this beloved organization.”

A CPA and graduate of Temple University’s Fox School of Business, Clark is a member of the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Black Accountants. She is also a member of the Investment Committee of the UMC’s General Council on Finance and Administration.  

A lifelong member of Mid-Town Parish UMC in Philadelphia, Clark was secretary of the Eastern PA Conference UMW, a member of the Conference Board of Higher Education and Ministry, and treasurer of the Philadelphia Caucus of Black Methodists for Church Renewal.
