EPAUMC’s Youth & Young Adult Ministries (YYAM) welcomes all youth pastors and leaders, as well as persons interested in starting youth ministries, to “Staying Connected,” an online meeting on Friday, Feb 25, at 6:30 PM.

The gathering, led by the Rev. Will Brawner, conference YYAM coordinator, will offer networking, creative ideas and resource information, along with discussions about the outlook for youth ministry in our churches and conference. Contact Brawner at wbrawner@epaumc.church (or wbrawner@epaumc.org).

But wait! There’s more. Brawner and the Conference Committee on Youth Ministries (CCYM) have a full schedule of events coming up into the fall.

The Black & Brown Youth Retreat, April 1-3, at Gretna Glen Camp & Retreat Center in Lebanon, is free for all youth in grades 6 to 12, and for young adults also. The weekend retreat will offer candid, conversations about race and racism from diverse black and brown youth perspectives, plus creative team-building exercises, worship, enjoyable fellowship and leadership training.

CCYM leaders will teach an online class at Tools for Ministry on Zoom, on Saturday, March 5, titled “How to Engage Youth in Church.” Select this class with your Tools registration.

Moreover, the conference-wide youth ministry will sponsor a CCYM Hurricane Recovery Support Mission Project, July 23, working with the conference’s Project Restoration disaster recovery team.

Also scheduled is a Youth Concert and BBQ (barbecue) at Carson Simpson Farm in Hatboro, Sept 24; and participation at the Greater New Jersey Youth Conference in Wildwood, NJ, Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. And CCYM will support Gretna Glen’s Youth Night gatherings, hosting church youth groups for joint activities every third Sunday.

CCYM meets via Zoom every 4th Wednesday and invites more youth to join them. The next meetings are Feb 23, March 23 and April 27.
