Bumkoo Chung to Coatesville: Olivet UMC

The Rev. BumKoo Chung was born in Seoul, South Korea, where his father was a minister in the Korean Methodist Church. In 1984, his family moved to Argentina to do missionary work among Korean immigrants there. Chung later attended seminary at ISEDET (Instituto Superior Evangelico de Estudios Teologicos). After graduating he came to the U.S and earned a Master of Divinity degree from Drew University Theological School in 2004.  . Rev. Chung was pastor of the Greater Pittsburgh Korean UMC, a multi-ethnic congregation in the NEJ Korean Mission. In EPA he served West Grove UMC, Cochranville UMC, and Cherry Lane UMC. From 2011 to 2013 he was Vice-President of the National Association of Korean American United Methodist Pastors Serving Cross-Racial/Cultural Appointments. He faithfully served as District Superintendent of the West District for 8 years.  Bk is married to Eun Kyung (Debra) and together they are parents of a daughter, Kayla Yeaji.
