Apr 04, 2022

On April 25 the Education Society of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church will start accepting applications for grants to assist worthy individuals with defraying the cost of higher education for the 2022-2023 school year. That date is fast-approaching.

The application form is available on the Conference website. It can be accessed as “Grants to Defray Higher Education Costs.” at the following website address:  http://www.epaumc.org/administration/finance/higher-education-scholarships/.

All applications received in the Conference Office (between and including) from April 25 to May 9 will be considered for a grant. All applications received during that two-week period will be considered.  Grant recipients who are qualified will be randomly selected.

Investing in higher education for students is a pillar of our Wesleyan heritage and essential to our denomination and its local churches. Scholarships and grants especially are significant to our mission to develop educated, faithful and committed leaders—leaders who know their church supports them in their aspirations for achievement and for rendering service to others.

Applications for these available grants have been declining in recent years. So, it is crucial that this information be provided to church members who plan to attend an institution of higher learning in the fall of 2022. Please communicate this grant opportunity to your congregation as soon as possible, and please urge all who are eligible to apply.

If you have questions, please contact Al Adey, Education Society Chairperson, at ahadey@verizon.net. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Alfred H. Adey
