A letter from the Rev. Susan Henry-Crowe, General Secretary of the General Board of Church and Society:
In this time of social distancing, do you find yourself missing routines? I miss going to the office each morning, seeing colleagues, and weekly rituals like worship and sharing meals with good friends. I am without familiar routines, but what I miss is small compared to what others have lost because of COVID-19: jobs, income, ability to see family, and access to food and healthcare.
The coronavirus pandemic has reminded us that injustice is routine, too – ingrained in the fabric of society. The systems and structures that routinely oppress have continued to disproportionately impact the most marginalized during COVID-19.
While this virus has upended many of our routines, injustice has only persisted…. Together we can create a world that better reflects God’s vision of health, wholeness, justice and peace. Learn more…
