Interim: August–October 2026
St. Paul’s United Methodist Church is seeking an Interim Organist/Choirmaster for August to October 2026.
- Instruments include:
- Three-manual, 68-stop Buch/Walker digital organ with floating solo division, based on Aeolian-Skinner specifications
- Newer Baldwin studio upright piano with humidifier and heater
- Three octaves of Schulmerich handbells and Malmark handchimes
- Position Details:
- Chancel Choir of approximately 12 capable singers performing a wide range of classical and contemporary traditional repertoire in SATB and SAB arrangements
- Small Handbell Choir of seven ringers
- Thursday evening rehearsals:
- Handbell Choir: 6:30 p.m.
- Chancel Choir: 7:30–approximately 8:30 p.m.
- Sunday Chancel Choir warm-up at 9:15 a.m.; worship service at 9:45 a.m.
- Additional annual services for Permanent Position include:
- Christmas Music Sunday on the fourth Sunday of Advent
- Music Sunday before the choir’s summer break
- One Christmas Eve service
- Ash Wednesday
- Maundy Thursday
- Summer Music Series with an annual budget for guest musicians who provide the prelude, special music, and postlude. A list of previous musicians and ensembles is available, and the development of new musical talent is encouraged.
- Large and varied music library
- Two weeks of paid vacation annually during the first two years
- Funerals: $150 per service
- Weddings: Compensation to be determined
- Interim Stipend: $250–$300 per week, depending upon experience
- Opportunity to be considered for the permanent position, if mutually desired
- Permanent Position Salary: $16,000–$18,000 annually, depending upon experience and capabilities
