Here at Crescentville United Methodist Church, along with former members of Frankford Memorial United Methodist Church who now worship with us, we recently shared a special shipment of choir robes, Bibles, hymnals, and a beautiful brass cross with Sidney Grove Memorial Methodist Church in Sierra Leone. These items were lovingly gifted by Frankford Memorial United Methodist Church when the church closed in June 2023. The gifts were received by Sidney Grove Memorial Methodist Church’s Circuit Superintendent, Rev. Edmond Bangali.

One of our Crescentville UMC members, Alfred McCauley, who is originally from Sierra Leone, lovingly helped carry and deliver these items.

The gifts were received with deep joy and gratitude by the congregation. Since then, we have been blessed to receive photos of worship services and church ceremonies where the choir robes are being worn, and the brass cross is now part of their worship space. Seeing these gifts continue in ministry across the world has touched our hearts deeply.

Frankford Memorial United Methodist Church may have closed its doors, but the legacy of that church still lives on. Through these gifts, its ministry continues to bless others in new places and new ways.

This has been a beautiful reminder that the Church is not simply a building, but the people of God sharing love, faith, and hope across generations and across the world.
