POSITION TYPE
Calvary United Methodist Church is looking for a part-time piano accompanist for weekly Sunday worship, and occasional other services.

PAY TYPE: weekly rate

WORK SCHEDULE
– approximately 3 hours per week, primarily on Sundays (10:15 am-12:45 pm at most)
– also including one Christmas Eve (evening)

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS
– $100 per week to start
– 4 paid Sundays off per year

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide musical accompaniment for Sunday worship

Provide or support “special music” offering for weekly worship, in consultation and cooperation with volunteer choir coordinator and small Calvary choir

Participate in weekly email communication with the pastor and choir coordinator to coordinate music for worship

Participate in monthly virtual planning meeting with pastor and choir coordinator to consider music for the month ahead

POSITION QUALIFICATION/EXPECTATIONS

Required Qualifications:

Skilled pianist, with experience playing piano for group and/or congregational singing

Basic familiarity and experience with sacred/church music

Commitment to inclusive/expansive language with musical offerings

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Commitment to supporting the mission and values of Calvary UMC

Desired Qualifications:

Skilled in playing a second instrument

Competent vocalist

Experience directing choirs
