Bishop John Schol has announced the appointment of North District Superintendent Steven Morton to a brand new role in the Eastern PA Conference: Leadership Development Manager. 

This parttime position (30 hours) is an immediate staff resource to help implement the provisions of Resolutions adopted by the Annual Conference last weekend, particularly those calling for the raising up of new clergy & lay leaders and the coaching of congregations motivated to develop plans for growth & vitality. 

This appointment will begin on July 1.

“I leave the North District having gained a tremendous respect for the robust spirit in our local churches, and with deep appreciation for the significant work we’ve accomplished together over the past four years. But I’m not GONE. This new position will keep me connected to North District pastors & congregations, as well as others all around the Conference, while I focus on areas of ministry where I believe I can best serve God at this time in my life.
