The EPA Local Pastor Licensing School is a foundational learning experience for preparation to become an appointed Local Pastor in the United Methodist Church of Eastern Pennsylvania. Students will engage in facilitated learning on topics such as worship, preaching, mission, evangelism, theology, pastoral care, administration and more. A student’s preparation, attendance and active participation in class sessions, and completion of assignments are all vital in the process.

*A candidate for ministry must be approved by their District Committee on Ministry or recommended by their District Superintendent to attend Local Pastor Licensing School.

The EPA UMC Local Pastor Licensing School will meet via Zoom on the following schedule:

Week 1 (February 6-7, 2026)

Week 2: (February 13-14, 2026)

Week 3 (February 20-21, 2026)

Week 4 (February 27- 28, 2026)

Week 5 (March 6-7, 2026)

Week 6 (March 13-14, 2026)

Week 7 (March 20-21, 2026):

Week 8 (March 27-28, 2026):

Class sessions will consist of synchronous meetings via Zoom on the Friday evenings and Saturday mornings/afternoons of the above weekends.

Cost: $375

Requirements for attending the school

– Online Registration with payment.
-Approval from one’s District Committee on Ministry or District Superintendent to attend, as noted in the registration.
