The Rev. Ron Schane, Director of Eastern PA Conference’s Pocono Plateau Camp & Retreat Center since 2002, has made the “prayerful decision” to resign, effective the end 2021. The conference Camping Board received that news at its meeting Sept. 25.

“Ron’s faithful leadership of the Plateau has brought renewed life and focus to both our summer camp and our retreat ministry,” said the Rev. Dawn Taylor-Storm, conference Director of Connectional Ministry. “Many of us know that the camp director position is a vocational calling for Ron, who serves as an ordained deacon. We have been truly blessed by his leadership across the conference.”

Pocono Plateau, following its successful Summer Camp season, is hosting retreats this fall and will celebrate its 75th anniversary Nov. 13 with a luncheon program in its Springer Center.
