Sexton Position Available
Part-Time – 30 hours/week
United Methodist Church of West Chester, West Chester, PA
The United Methodist Church of West Chester is seeking a Part-Time Sexton to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for worship, learning, and community life.
Responsibilities include:
- Cleaning and maintaining offices, classrooms, restrooms, and worship spaces
- Trash removal, recycling, and restocking supplies
- Setting up and breaking down spaces for worship services, funerals, weddings, and events
- Assisting with basic A/V setup as needed
- Supporting seasonal cleaning and special projects
- Ensuring safety standards are followed and spaces remain accessible
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
- Ability to perform physical tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs/ladders)
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Custodial experience preferred
- Background check required
Compensation & Benefits:
- $25/hour
- Paid Time Off (pro-rated)
- Additional compensation for weddings and funerals
- Eligible for benefits per church policy
