May all praise and glory be to God, for the ways he is working in the hearts and minds of God’s people at Effort United Methodist Church on the North District. This year, on Easter Sunday, the church was blessed to welcome fourteen new members. Just a handful of weeks later, six children received the sacrament of baptism on Mother’s Day!

God’s people at Effort UMC have taken up the challenge, “Whom will you invite?” Every week, that question is asked during the sending forth and benediction. Upcoming events postcards are offered at the Welcome Desk and are used by the people of this congregation as an invitational tool. Outreach programs are offered on a regular basis – for example, breakfasts, community concerts, and family fun events – so that the people of Effort UMC can be excited to invite family members, friends, co-workers, and neighbors. In all of this, God is working through a spirit of invitation, and we are so grateful to him!
