This year congregants around the EPA & GNJ Annual conferences again reached out with God’s love to those who are incarcerated with caring messages of encouragement on Christmas cards. A total of 6980 cards were completed and distributed to a total of 8 facilities. Thanks to you, those who are incarcerated will know that people who don’t even know them care about them and are holding them in prayer. This is such an important message during the Christmas season when many are feeling particularly isolated and alone. Thank you!
In addition, thanks to those who responded to our follow up appeal for unused Christmas cards that could be given to the incarcerated so that they could send messages to their family and friends. A total of 3725 of these cards were delivered to the head Chaplain of the Philadelphia correctional system. The Chaplain was delighted to receive these and unused cards are still being accepted, as they can be used for next year. If anyone would like to take advantage of after-Christmas sales on these cards, they would be welcomed, as long as they meet the requirements: NO GLITTER, NO “FAKE SNOW”, NO STICKERS, and no messages would be added on these cards. Mail cards with their envelopes to EPAUMC Prison Ministry: P.O. Box 820, Valley Forge, PA 19482-0820.
Thanks to all of you who participated in this ministry!
