The Rev. William Brawner, Coordinator of the EPA Conference’s Youth & Young Adult Ministries and Coordinator of the EPA’s Open Door Campus Ministry (Wesley Foundation) at Drexel University, will leave the Conference Connectional Ministries staff Sept. 15.

He has served in both roles since July 2021, and he previously was EPA’s Coordinator of Urban Ministries from 2017 to 2021. All conference coordinator positions are part-time.

Brawner, who earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from United Lutheran Seminary this year, is also the part-time pastor of (Mother) African Zoar UMC in Philadelphia. He has served as pastor of two other Philadelphia churches: Haven Peniel UMC and Midtown Parish UMC.

“We are deeply thankful for Dr. Brawner’s ministry with EPA, that strengthened our youth & young adult ministry and our connection to Drexel University through the Wesley Foundation,” said the Rev. Dawn Taylor-Storm, Connectional Ministries Director.  “Dr. Brawner co-led EPA’s Economic Justice Team over the past year, leading to our A Path to Wholeness resolution adopted by the Annual Conference.

“Our prayers go with Dr. Brawner as he continues to serve God’s people in the local church,” said Taylor-Storm. “We give thanks for the ministry of Jezerel Gutierrez who will continue to support Youth and Young Adult Ministry in EPA, and for the Rev. Diana Esposito (Deacon), who will continue to serve with our Wesley Foundation at Drexel University.”
