We have received word of the death of the Rev. Donald C. Sweimler, Retired Local Pastor, who died on July 6, 2022. Rev. Sweimler retired in 2012 but continued to serve as Supply Pastor for Green Hill United Methodist Church.
Rev. Sweimler also served the following Eastern PA Conference churches prior to retirement:
- Safe Harbor
- Newtown
- Schoeneck: Wiest
On Sunday, July 17, 2022, a celebration of Don’s life took place at the Pine Grove Mennonite Church located at 1194 Reading Road Bowmansville, PA 17507 with a private interment. The family encouraged attendees to wear Phillies gear or colors in honor of Don.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; son Daniel Sweimler, husband of Christiane of Surry, ME; and daughter, Suzan Lesmerises, wife of Peter of Groton, CT.; his daughter, Alyson Kreidler, wife of Rob of Marietta, PA, and his daughter, Katie Schaeffer, wife of Matt of Sinking Spring, PA.
