The Rev. Greg Ellis, Eastern PA Conference Volunteers in Mission (VIM) coordinator, announces a training for current and future VIM team leaders on Saturday Nov 12, 2016, 9 AM to 3 PM, at Asbury UMC. The cost of $35 includes training materials and lunch. (Register online.)

The training facilitator will be the Rev. Tom Lank, VIM Coordinator for the UMC’s Northeastern Jurisdiction. A Deacon in the Greater New Jersey Conference, his specialization is in missions and peace with justice ministries.
Lank has organized international mission journeys to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Mexico, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. He also led domestic mission journeys in nine U.S. states. He describes his calling in terms familiar to VIM teams: “Connecting the people of God with the needs of the world through genuine encounters and relationships.”
Who Should Attend?
“If you are interested in learning more about being a UMVIM team leader or hosting mission teams, this training is designed for you,” says Ellis. Team Leader Training is recommended for all first time United Methodist Volunteers In Mission team leaders, but all interested persons are welcome to attend, whether they are leading a team or not.
