Hopewell UMC’s newest mission effort was featured this week in the Daily Local News. “Local church establishes ‘The Well’ in Downingtown” reports on the Downingtown congregation’s new mission enterprise that’s close to home. Members spent the entire Memorial Day weekend “painting, plastering, ripping up carpet and cleaning to prepare for the opening of The Well,” a spacious former funeral home they are converting into a community center to provide gathering spaces and services for all ages, including support groups, job training, after-school activities and tutoring.
