The Rev. Fred R. Landis, February 2015

The Rev. Fred R. Landis, 75, a retired Elder, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015. Rev. Landis served the following churches before retiring in 2006:

  • 1960: Mt. Zion in Steelton
  • 1962: Glen Moore
  • 1964: Halifax Methodist
  • 1965: Mount Hope
  • 1965: Wesley in Quarryville
  • 1970: Pearl Street in Lancaster
  • 1972: West Grove
  • 1984: St. Luke’s
  • 1984: Cherry Valley
  • 1984: Poplar Valley
  • 1992: Brunnerville

He was also a head usher at the Fulton Opera House and the Ephrata Performing Arts Center; music director at Pocono Plateau; past chaplain at Ephrata Hospital; an officer for the Upper Leacock Alumni Association; and a Patient Partner with Wellspan PCMH. He loved music, singing and playing the piano. Memorials are suggested to the Fulton Theatre, PO Box 1865, Lancaster, PA 17608-1865.

Rev. Landis’s late wife, Audrey Swift Landis, died in 2001. He will be lovingly missed by his three daughters: Hope, married to William Bradley, in Westminster, Mass.; Beth, married to Scott Kimbel, in Denver, Pa.; Jill, married to Alexander Matolyak, in Mechanicsburg, Pa.; plus eight grandchildren, his sister, Mary, married to David Clinton, in Leola; and three nieces.
