The EPA Conference Council on Young Adult Ministries (CCYAM) recently released a video-based Bible study series produced by and primarily for young adults.
Waging War, a high energy, video-based Bible study, offers a curriculum built around six hard-hitting and passionate video messages. Those messages are designed to lead young adults through seemingly insurmountable battles that can deter or distract them from their service to and relationship with God.
To celebrate the video series release, CCYAM previewed the intense curriculum at a premiere screening Nov. 21, at Union Memorial UMC in Darby. An exclusive performance of the series’ original song, Stand Firm, accented the inspiring presentation. The celebration also included a dinner and discussion about the series’ Season 1 title, “Stand on God’s Word or Fall to this World”.
“I loved every minute of it,” said Victor Gimenez, pastor of the host church, Union Memorial. A member of the Young Adult Council, he shared that Lesson 5–titled “You Are Not Alone,” by Min. Peter R. Blue, Sr.–fit in line with a sermon series he has been preaching at his church. “This is a timely and much-needed Bible Study.”
Members of the Young Adult Council were joined at the premiere by members of eight churches and several young clergy, some of whose journeys there stretched from New Jersey to Virginia.
The council distributed 60 hard copies of the video-based Bible Study free to church leaders in late November. They also posted the Waging War series on the conference’s Website’s Young People’s Ministries page and also in the site’s online video gallery.
“These are tools,” explained Min. Britni Johnson. “(We are) enabling young adults to recognize the spiritual battles that wage war on their lives, their minds and most of all, their souls. We want to equip them with the spiritual tools to reclaim a holy and Christ-like life.”
