Texas floods wash away people, homes

Raging floods in central and south Texas over Memorial Day weekend forced an elderly couple–both members of Wimberley UMC–onto the roof of their home. Larry Thomas, 74, lost his grip, was swept away and died in the floods that engulfed houses along the Blanco River in Wimberley. His wife, Carol Thomas, sang hymns until a rescuer arrived.
