Wayne United Methodist Celebrates 125 Years

Year-long celebrations are underway as Wayne United Methodist Church celebrates its 125th Anniversary of service to the community on the corner of South Wayne and Runnymeade Avenues!  A myriad of events are in place to honor this milestone with church and community members, including events for all ages. Download the flyer!

  • The big celebration day is Anniversary SundayJune 21st, beginning with a special 10:00am worship service featuring the dynamic Dr. Tony Campolo as guest preacherAll are welcome to join WUMC in this historic service, giving thanks for 125 years of service to the Wayne Community.
  • June 28th will be a heartfelt celebration in honor of Pastor Joe DiPaolo, who has led the WUMC congregation for the past 12 years and will be giving his final sermon here before he transfers to Lancaster City United Methodist Church in July.
  • July’s event will be a unique Worship on the Lawn at 10:00am, July 19th.  The morning service will be held on the front lawn to enjoy God’s summer beauty! If God opts for rain, the outdoor service will be held July 26th.

Visit the church website (www.wayneumc.org) to learn more about these and other events scheduled for the remainder of the year.  The church will be hosting family dinners, guest preachers, community service opportunities and more, including a free concert in November by Elizabeth von Trappe, the granddaughter of the famous Maria von Trappe (inspiration for the film, The Sound of Music.)
