Our three year-round camp and retreat sites have been busy all spring (and winter too) with retreats and other events, offering delightful days, magical moments and unforgettable experiences for attendees of all ages.
Following several winter retreats for children, youth and adults, Innabah’s Easter Egg Hunt, Golf Outing and 5K race put bodies in motion, raising spirits and dollars to support the camp and its ministries.
Gretna Glen completed its annual season of free, fun-filled Sunday Youth Nights in April. But senior adults will have their day, too, with the annual Spring Fling May 12, offering food, games, crafts, entertainment, nature strolls and fellowship with friends. There’s also the spectacular annual Gretna Gritty May 9, where contestants ran, climbed, crawled and jumped through a 3-mile obstacle course where surely, dirtness is next to godliness.
Pocono Plateau warmed up a frigid winter by offering much laughter and learning at its Children’s Winter Jamboree, Junior High Youth Groups Retreat and Confirmation Retreat. But spring brought a weekend “Dangerous Retreat” for sons and dads in April, inspired by the Dangerous Book for Boys, and offering exhilarating adventures to celebrate the bonds between fathers and young sons.
Mothers and daughters will have their weekend retreat May 15-17, to also celebrate and strengthen their bonds with another and with God. Activities will include games, crafts, hiking, high-ropes adventure and worship. A weekend Young Adult Retreat will follow May 29-31.
Carson-Simpson Farm is getting revved up now for Summer Camp, starting with its Open House May 2, where it welcomed visitors and future campers for tours, games, face-painting, camp registration and its annual flower sale. The other camps are also hosting open houses and spring work days when visitors and supporters enjoy helping to spruce up the camp sites for oncoming summer guests and activities.
After months of preparation, promotion, dozens of church visits, open houses, registration, volunteer recruitment and staff training, these Camp & Retreat Ministry centers kick-off their Summer Camp season during the week of June 15. This year’s uplifting theme is “Power Up! Living in the Spirit.”
Visit their Websites, get their brochures, and register now if you haven’t already. Don’t miss the life-transforming fun, fellowship and faith formation, along with memorable adventures, our camps provide each year to thousands of children, youth and adults.
