Basic Sexual Ethics Workshop:  Healthy Boundaries

Healthy boundaries are vital to your success in ministry. Thus, the Eastern PA Conference requires all clergy under appointment to complete a workshop in Basic Sexual Ethics for ministry. This online, interactive workshop fulfills this requirement through videos, online discussion, and group interaction via Zoom. The content is based on utilizing the FaithTrust Institute’s “Healthy Boundaries 101 (A Sacred Trust)” curriculum. The total time investment is approximately 6–7 hours.

Your success in this online workshop depends on your willingness to read and respond to email communications about the event, to engage in an asynchronous discussion forum the week of September 11–15, and to participate in a two-hour Zoom session on Saturday, September 16, 2pm–4pm.

Darryl W. Stephens is director of United Methodist Studies and director of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ministry at Lancaster Theological Seminary. He holds a PhD in Christian ethics from Emory University and is chair of the Order of Deacons in the Eastern PA Conference of The United Methodist Church.
