Reflecting on a shared Methodist heritage

Representatives of The United Methodist Church and Methodist Church in Britain held two worship services together as they gathered to mark the 50th anniversary of an agreement between the two denominations.

The opening worship service, with the theme “Sent to Proclaim,” was held Aug. 10 at Wesley’s Chapel, the mother church of the Methodist revival and missionary movement. The Aug. 12 service at Methodist Central Hall, Westminster, closed the weekend of activities and discussion as the churches pledged to continue and renew their relationship.
