Our Commission on Religion & Race (CORR) will take a busload of Eastern PA Conference members and guests on Wednesday, April 4, to the National Council of the Churches’ (NCC) ACT Now rally and march, 9 AM to 4 PM, on the National Mall calling for an end to racism. NCC will gather with interfaith partners for an historic three-day event, April 3-5, in Washington D.C. to launch its Truth and Racial Justice Initiative. The initiative marks 50 years since the assassination of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on April 4, 1968. “We will do our part to help eradicate the entrenched racism that grips the United States and paralyzes our ability to see every human being as equal.”
The 52-passenger CORR bus will leave at 5 AM from the Berkshire Mall in Wyomissing, Reading, stop at King of Prussia Mall, and return to King of Prussia and then Berkshire Mall by about 9 PM. The first 30 people to sign up pay only $25, with additional riders paying $35. Learn more…
