A Call to Prayer and Action to End the Death Penalty
Wednesday, Sept. 16, 12:00pm
St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Parish
109 E. Price Street, Philadelphia, PA

Featuring WTI member and PA exoneree Harold Wilson (http://citypaper.net/articles/2006-09-14/cb.shtml)

Please join PA clergy and women religious, Witness to Innocence (www.witnesstoinnocence.org), the Philadelphia Campaign to End Death Penalty Prosecutions and Pennsylvanians for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (www.padp.org)as we gather at St. Vincent de Paul’s parish to pray for our leaders to heed the Pope’s message that “Capital punishment is cruel, inhuman and an offense to the dignity of human life.” (September 26-27.) His visit to the Curran-Fromhold Correction Facility is a sign that we should show mercy to all of God’s children.

Please take a moment to forward this on to clergy and women religious in your network who may wish to attend by sharing this invite or forwarding this link: http://tinyurl.com/PhillyDeathPenaltyPrayerVigil

A diverse and growing coalition of PA clergy and women religious  across the state have signed a statement uniting to end the death penalty. Please continue to circulate this statement to others in the final weeks before Pope Francis’s arrival in Philadelphia. http://tinyurl.com/PAClergyUniteXDP
