We are an established food pantry in Jenkintown, PA seeking an executive director to lead the pantry on its mission to distribute food and clothing at no cost to residents of Montgomery County with limited means. The Executive Director will be responsible for the overall smooth running of the Jenkintown Food Cupboard working in collaboration with our staff and volunteers to provide timely, caring services to our clients. The Executive Director is also responsible for developing and nurturing community relationships, preparing grant proposals and participating in fundraising initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: has a high degree of energy; is comfortable speaking publicly in small and large groups; has worked in a food security or emergency food system for at least 1 year; has experience with non-profit fiscal management; has a history of managing time and tasks efficiently; can demonstrate experience with generating new revenue streams; is fluent in Microsoft Word and Excel; and most of all is personable and has had demonstrated success in establishing relationships with volunteers, patrons and external stakeholders.

Pay: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00 per year

COVID-19 considerations: After an initial training period, we expect that some of the tasks and responsibilities could be performed from a remote location. Much of the work however will require the executive director to be present at the food pantry.
