Dec. 3: Sounds of Hope benefit Concert at First UMC Lancaster

Dec. 3: First UMC Lancaster will present its Sounds of Hope benefit concert, 6 PM, to raise awareness of justice concerns and to encourage hopefulness.

Dec. 3-4: “Replicas of Where Christ Was Born” Nativity Display at First UMC Perkasie

First UMC Perkasie will host a Nativity Display, titled “Replicas of Where Christ Was Born,” with refreshments on Saturday, Dec. 3, from 4:30 to 8 PM, prior to the 107th annual Perkasie Tree Lighting. The display, featuring members’ “borrowed treasures,” will resume on Sunday, Dec. 4.

The church began the Christmas season in November with caroling by its choir and collecting food for the local pantry and mittens, scarves and other Christmas gift items for its needy neighbors, as well as Christmas stocking items for shut-in members.

The church will celebrate Christmas in worship Dec. 18 and on Christmas Eve

Dec. 4: 59th Annual Messiah Festival at Tindley Temple UMC

Dec. 9: Philadelphia UM Mass Choir Concert at Wharton Wesley UMC

The new Philadelphia UM Mass Choir, formed by singers from Philadelphia black UM churches in the spring of this year, will perform a Christmas concert on FridayDec. 9, a 7 PM at Wharton Wesley UMC, 5342 Catharine St., Philadelphia.
