September 2018 Church Mutual Tid-Bit:

Trunk-or-treat events are becoming more common as a safer alternative to trick-or-treating for children. This is done by creating an environment that limits hazards and provides increased supervision for youth. Follow these tips if you plan to host a trunk-or-treat event:

  • Coordinate a specific time and place for vehicles to arrive and park
  • Inspect the area ahead of time for trip and fall hazards
  • Allow only pre-packed treats and ask parents to inspect before consuming

When done correctly, trunk-or-treat events can be a fun and safe experience for all. View Church Mutual’s Trunk-or-Treat Safety page for more information, or visit our website Ask Risk Control Central to contact one of our professional risk consultants.

Risk Alerts

Learning from experience is an excellent technique, but when it comes to risk management issues, it can be an expensive and dangerous one.

Risk Alert is a tool designed to allow religious organizations to learn from the losses of others.

As we study the claims filed by our customers, looking at individual losses and identifying trends, we develop loss control techniques to reduce the risk of those losses. Those techniques are published in our Risk Alerts. New Alerts are added on a regular basis
