Retiree Health Care now through Aetna

EPAUMC Board of Pension & Health BenefitsIn May of 2011, the Annual Conference approved a move of our retiree health care from Independence Blue Cross to Aetna, if it became feasible. This did become a workable and cost effective approach, so as of January 1, 2012, the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference will cover our Retirees through Aetna.

We will continue to offer two plans: a Medicare Supplement available with any physician who accepts Medicare, and a Medicare Advantage, which is now available to the entire Conference rather than just the five (5) county Philadelphia area.

While open enrollment was originally scheduled for November 6-20, 2011, there has been a delay in production of your packets do to power outages resulting from storm damage. We have extended open enrollment to November 30, and may need to extend it further if the packets do not arrive by Friday!

Informational meetings have already been scheduled, and representatives will be in attendance to go through the plans and answer questions. However, we do realize that many of you may not have received adequate notice of meeting times, sow e will be adding an additional meeting to provide further opportunity for you to meet and ask any questions you may have.

Please watch for your enrollment packet, coming soon!
