Funding for Ministry

United Methodist Metro Ministries offers grants to urban churches:  At the May 2011 Annual Conference, Resolution 2011-09 made Metro Ministries, Inc. the administrative body for the monies realized from the sale of the former Bustleton United Methodist Church property. In accordance with the 2008 Book of Discipline, ¶2548 and ¶212, the Board of Metro, Inc. has designated a portion of the monies to be used as grants in the urban churches in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference. Churches in the following urban areas may apply for the grant: Allentown, Bethlehem, Chester, Coatesville, Columbia, Doylestown, Easton, Lancaster, Lebanon, Levittown, Norristown, Philadelphia, Pottstown, Pottsville, Quakertown, Reading, Shamokin, Stroudsburg, and West Chester.

Conference Advance Special Application

Deadline: Applications must be received by Rev. David J. Davis by March 22, 2012 to be included with the resolution.  Approval of Conference Advance Special status allows ministries to request second-mile giving.  For more information, contact Rev. Dewees Grant Application
In accordance with the provision in the Dewees will, the funds are given to the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church “to use in the mission programs of the Church.” Grants will typically not exceed $10,000, and be for the initial funding of a project only.

New Church Starts:

Peace with Justice Grants:

Apply for a Peace with Justice Grant for individual or church/organization use within Eastern Pennsylvania Conference. The grants are designed to support peace with justice issues. Grants will be given to work/study programs/projects that seek alternatives to violence and its causes; economic justice and the self-development of peoples; and promote restorative justice,, incuding abolition of the death penalty. Approval process may take up to three months from time of submission of all paperwork.

Congregational Transformation Grants:

Grant are made possible by Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Connectional Ministries Fund.  Grants are available for new ministries.   For more information, contact the Rev.
