2011 Appointments

Bishop Peggy Johnson announces the following appointments, effective July 1, 2011 (unless noted otherwise):

Effective August 25, 2011, Dr. Sharon Barley is appointed to Senior Interim Pastor of Jarrettown UMC. Dr. Barley brings to her position great skill and giftedness in the transformation of local church congregations. She has served St. Paul’s in Mountville and Boehm’s in Willow Street.

2010 Retirees

Retirees: The Eastern Pennsylvania Conference of The United Methodist Church honored the service of nineteen retiring pastors – representing a total of 540 years of ministry - at the Retiree Service on the evening of Friday, May 21, 2010 at Annual Conference. 

 The service began as Bishop Peggy Johnson invited those to be ordained and commissioned for ministerial orders to come forward and asked them the Historic Questions. Bishop Johnson welcomed the retiring pastors.  As a symbolic transfer of the mantle of ministry from the retirees to the new ordinands, Rev. Richard Conner "yoked" Rev. Wendy Orzolek with a red stole. The service concluded as retiring pastors annointed and prayed with the new ordinands.
