Death Notice: Mrs. Ruth Miller

Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Ruth Essick Miller, 104, widow of Rev. Grant N. Miller.  She passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011, at St. Anne’s Retirement Community.

Rev. Miller served the following appointments beginning in 1928: Pottstown; Brunnerville; Lebanon; Kochenderfer; Ironville; Jonestown CT; and appointments in Virginia, Holston, and Suquehanna Conferences.  He retired in 1970 and died in 1997.

A Life Celebration Funeral Service will be held at Ironville United Methodist Church, 4020 Holly Drive, Columbia, PA 17512, on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Charles A. Deutsch and Rev. Richard J. Rimert, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Memorial Garden. Friends may call at the Funeral Home of Fred F. Groff, Inc., 234 W. Orange St., Lancaster, PA, on Tuesday, Dec. 27, from 7-9 PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until time of service.

She is survived by two nephews, Ronald D. Essick  and William D. Essick; and a niece, Nancy Essick Head.
