Death Notice: Rev. Russell C. Wentling

Word has been received of the death of The Rev.Russell C. Wentling, 78, who died on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA.

He was ordained into the Evangelical United Brethren denomination in 1964 and served churches in Central and Eastern Pennsylvania: Former Phila: Mount Pisgah; Schuylkill Haven: Messiah; Schuylkill Haven: Trinity; Schuylkill Haven: Covenant; Lebanon: Bethany; Former Sharon Hill; Former Reading: Faith; Schuylkill Haven: First; and Allentown: Emmanuel; He retired in 1998, and served churches in retirement.  He also served on boards:The Board of Mission of the Good News Movement in the United Methodist Church,and the Board of Ordained Ministry of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference. 

He is survived by by his wife, Alice; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Karen Wentling of New York; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Nancy Wentling of Foxborough, Mass.; daughter and son-in-law, Charles and Kathy (Wentling) Walker of Morgantown; daughter, Betty Jeanne Wentling of Reading; 11 grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25 at Ono United Methodist Church, 9 Main Street, Ono, PA   (NOTE:  Jonestown Road is called Main Street in Ono)  . A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Interment will be at the Salem Evangelcal Cemetery, Guests are invited to a luncheon in the church fellowship hall.
