Rev. Melvin (Pete) Bell

Word has been received of the death of the Rev. Melvin F. (Pete) Bell on Friday, January 22, 2010.

Rev. Bell served the following appointments beginning in 1977: Evansburg and Phila.: Simpson Memorial (where he was currently serving in his 26th year). He served as the Director of Kensington Area Ministry from 2002 until June of 2009. Rev. Bell grew up in Bristol, Pennsylvania. He was recommended for ordained ministry by his home church, Harriman United Methodist Church.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at Simpson Memorial United Methodist Church, Kensington and Monmouth Streets, Philadelphia PA 19134. Relatives and friends are invited to the calling hour beginning a 6:00 p.m.
