Rev. John A. Shannon

Word has been received of the death of the Rev. John A. Shannon, 81, retired Elder, who passed away early Sunday morning, March 7, 2010.  

Rev. Shannon served the following appointments: Jim Thorpe: Grace- St. Paul; Bensalem; Cedarville; Phila: Grace;  Downingtown; and Clifton Heights, which he served for 24 years from 1970-1994.  He retired in 1994.  In retirement, he served a two-point charge in Florida.  He was a charter member of the Methodist Pocono Plateau Camping Center. 

Services will be held  7:30 pm Wednesday evening, March 10, at the Williams Lombardo Funeral Home, Baltimore and Summit Ave, Clifton Heights PA. 19018.  A time of visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 6:00 pm.

He was the widower of Katherine Eddowes Shannon, who died in 2008.  He is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Wise, his son, John Shannon, and three grandchildren.
