Death Notice: Rev. Jack Rule
Word has been received of the death of the Rev. Jack Rule, 84, retired local pastor, who died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Health Center of Cornwall Manor.
Rev. Rule served numerous churches for over 40 years, including, in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference: Landenberg, McMichaels, Neola, Wind Gap: First, Belfast: Wesley, and Portland, as well as churches in Iowa and Illinois. He retired in 1991. Most recently he served in adult ministry at Effort United Methodist Church.
His funeral service will be held on Friday March 25 at 10:30 a.m., at Effort UM Church, Merwinsburg Road, 1/4 mile north of Route 115, Effort, PA 18330; 570-629-1890. The service will be conducted by Rev. David Felker and Rev. Robin Fisher. Friends may pay their respects at Effort UMC before the service from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. There will be a reception at Effort United Methodist Church following the service. Interment will be at George Washington Memorial Park, 80 Stenton Avenue, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Catharine Ruth Rule; his sons, John A. Rule and Robert A. Rule, and grandchildren: Kevin, Kimberly, Lindsay, David and Stephen.
