Death Notice: Rev. Howard Huddleson

Word has been received of the death of Reverend Howard D. Huddleson, 87, on Friday, August 27, 2010, at Hospice of Lancaster County. His wife, Glenda Susan (Frick) Huddleson preceded him in death in 1996. 

Reverend Huddleson served as pastor of United Methodist Churches in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference for over 40 years.  During those 40 years he served Phila: St. Luke’s Snyder Avenue; Phila: Norris Square; Chatham; Avondale; Phila: Olivet-Bethany; Columbia: First; Summit Hill; Former Wadesville; St. Clair-Wade; Grove; Bird-in-Hand; Williamstown; Peach Bottom: Mt. Zion; Pleasant Grove; Pottsville: Evangelical; Parkesburg; Springtown: Salem; Hellertown: St. Paul’s; Upland; and Former Coatesville: Grace.

Surviving are four children: Daniel J. Huddleson, Williamstown; David W. married to Pamela Huddleson, Syracuse, NY; Susan H. married to Thomas Hambleton, Quarryville; Ruth E. married to Brian Frankhouser, New Holland; a daughter-in-law Connie Huddleson, widow of son Thomas M., Ogallala, NE; 11 grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and a niece.

His funeral will be held on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 11 AM at St. Stephen United Church of Christ, 249 E. Main St., New Holland, with Pastor David Goode officiating. Interment will be in Glenwood Memorial Gardens, Broomall. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Groff-High Funeral Home, 145 W. Main St., New Holland and at the church on Friday from 10 to 11 AM.
