Death Notice: Rev. Dr. Harold C. Koch
Word has been received of the death of the Rev. Dr. Harold C. Koch, on Friday, July 23, 2010, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was 103 years old.
Rev. Koch was ordained a deacon in 1931 and an elder in 1932. He served the following appointments beginning in 1927: Steelton: Mt. Zion; Lancaster: Ross Street; Mount Joy; Llewellyn; Girardville; Hamorton; Landenberg; Extension Ministry: Chaplain WWII (N. Africa and Italy); Phila.: Kensington “Old Brick”; Former Phila.: Providence; Bristol: First; Phila.: FGM: Rehoboth; Former Phila.: Summerfield; North Wales: Sanctuary; and Former Phila.: Tabernacle Memorial. He retired in 1972.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 1:30 pm at the Levi Zerr Chapel, Cornwall Manor, 1 Boyd Street, Cornwall, PA 17016; Phone: 717-273-2647. Interment will be at the Mount Lebanon Cemetery, Lebanon, immediately following the service. The Rev. Ronald A. Waite, pastor of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Lebanon, and the Rev. Glen Esler, chaplain at Cornwall Manor will be officiating.
His wife, Violet, preceded him in death in 1997. They did not have any children. Condolences can be sent to his niece: Mrs. Kay Gorman, 4118 Mitscher Court, Kensington, MD 20895.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be sent to Cornwall Manor, P.O. Box 125 Cornwall, PA 17016. Dr. Koch was a resident of Cornwall Manor since February 16, 1979.
