Death Notice: Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) M. Reiner

Word has been received of the death of Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) M. Reiner, 92, on October 10, 2011.   She was the widow of the late Rev. Dr. Rollin T. Reiner, who died in 2005.

Dr. Reiner was the pastor at West Lawn for 40 years, 1942-82.  He retired in 1982.  Together Dr. and Mrs. Reiner led the congregation through great periods of growth and through two denominational mergers.  The education building of the church was named after the two of them. 

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 13, 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and a funeral service on Friday, October 14, at 10:00 am, both at West Lawn UMC, 15 Woodside Avenue, Reading, PA  19609-1664.

She is survived by three daughters, Rachel Auman, Rebecca Harris, and Stephanie Mays, six grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
