Older Adult Ministry in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference
The mission of the Older Adult Ministry is to advocate for older adults in the local churches of the Eastern Pennsylvania Annual Conference by provision of resources to:
- assist local churches for ministry with, by and for older adults
- nurture spiritual growth of older adults
- empower older adults for ministry
The Eastern Pennsylvania Annual Conference Older Adult Ministry Committee is committed to being involved in the spiritual, physical and emotional well being of older adults. The Committee seeks to be involved in the aging process, bringing hope, encouragement, guidance and training to older adults and their spiritual leaders.
The committee is an advocate for older adults:
- to develop and maintain a sense of personal identity and dignity
- to utilize the experience, wisdom and skills of older adults
- to obtain and provide adequate healthcare
- to provide opportunity for educational experiences for older adults
- to serve others through support during life’s transitions
- to be in service to the church and community
The Older Adult Ministry Committee publishes The Elder Sage, a quarterly newsletter that provides a means of communicating and networking throughout the conference.
