Clergy Nominations for General and Jurisdictional Conference

The 225th session of the Eastern Pennsylvania Annual Conference will elect delegates to the 2012 General Conference of The United Methodist Church and the Northeastern Jurisdictional Conference.  

UPDATED INFORMATION:  The clergy delegates to the General Conference and to the Jurisdictional or regional conference shall be elected from the clergy members in full connection and by the clergy members of the annual conference who are deacons and elders in full connection, associate members, and those provisional members who have completed all of their educational requirements, and local pastors who have completed course of study or an M.Div degree and have served a minimum of two consecutive years under appointment immediately preceding the election.

The first stage of this process is the nomination of persons whose names will appear on the ballot.  You are entitled to nominate up to 10 clergy persons. 

DEADLINE: The NOMINATING PETITION must be received by Conference Secretary, Rev. Rodney Miller, no later than March 10, 2011

You may nominate any number of persons up to 10. 

Following the nominating process, persons who receive 10 or more nominations will be contacted for their approval to appear on the ballot.  They will be asked to submit biographical information as well as a written statement.  Article XVI of our Rules of Order, printed on page 4 of Volume 2 of the 2009 Journal, outlines the entire process.

General Conference 2012 will take place April 24 to May 4, 2012 at the Tampa Convention Center in Tampa, FL.  Read more: http://gc2012.umc.org.
