ANNUAL BLACK UNITED METHODIST SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER TURNED TO GOSPEL, R&B AND URBAN HIP HOP TO RAISE DOLLARS FOR ITS STUDENTS
The Philadelphia chapters of the Black United Methodist Preachers (BUMP) and the Black Methodists for Church Renewal (BMCR) hosted a concert on April 17 featuring the contemporary Christian music group, Soulfruit as its annual fundraiser for scholarship support this year.

The Soulfruit concert was held on Saturday, April 17th at Janes Memorial United Methodist Church in Germantown (47 E. Haines Street in Philadelphia). Ticket sales proceeds went to support scholarships to African American United Methodist students pursuing college or graduate studies.
Soulfruit (www.Soulfruit.net) is a nationally recognized musical group that blends gospel, R&B and urban hip hop into a sound that has won them acclaim across the country. Based in Arizona, the group has been featured on television networks including PBS, CBS, and ABC affiliates, have earned numerous awards from stage performances and singing artistry have shared the stage with gospel legends Yolanda Adams, Christian jazz innovators, Gospel Rap artists Trinity 5-7 and The Cross Movement as well as R&B icons such as The Bar-Kay's and Howard Hewitt.
