2012 Church Remittances

In a difficult financial climate, we have seen Churches work hard to meet their financial obligations.  As of January 17, 2012, a total of $18.4 million has been received for all funds for 2011, 89% of the total budget of $20.6 million.  We will provide a 2011 financial update and post the final 2011 figures on our web site by the end of the month.

We saw a 25% increase in giving from local churches for CMF over the last quarter compared to last year. Sixty-six percent (66%) of all EPA churches paid 100% or more for CMF. As of result of Bishop Johnson’s appeal, 48 churches paid more than 100%, and an additional 245 churches paid CMF 100%. We praise God for the support of each other in this connectional ministry.

We have been fortunate to see only a small increase in our health care costs, and a reduction in our Property & Liability rates for 2012.   However, we still need to be careful in our financial outlook.  The Conference recently made the very difficult decision to terminate 5 positions – 2 of them effective immediately.  We are all working with less, while still doing all we can to further the Kingdom of God.

These figures are populated on your church’s record in The Connection Database. To access these figures login to www.epaumc.org/login. Once logged in your church's name will appear and below your church's name will be links to the form for ACH online payment form and the downloadable PDF check payment form. Nearly 40% of our churches now pay their remittance figures online, and we encourage you to move in this direction.  Also attached is a document titled; “2012 Apportionments and Billed Funds”.  Please reference this for details on how the apportionment is calculated and additional information on each of the billed funds.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.  I pray the Lord continues to bless you and your ministry in 2012.
