Marketing your endowment fund is very important - people aren’t encouraged to give if they don’t know where to give and what will happen to their gift once its made. Here are some thoughts to help you market your fund.
Send everyone a copy of your endowment fund policy - by individual letter or include it in your newsletter. Repeat it every year or every other year.
Have a separate newsletter about the endowment fund or include information in your regular church newsletter about the endowment fund, about giving, and other related topics. The articles the Foundation writes for the NewSpirit are available to be copied and put in your newsletter - click here for a list of those articles.
The Foundation produces several brochures on why have an endowment fund, the Plans of Giving and Charitable Gift Annuities. We can send you a limited supply of brochures for your brochure rack, you are welcome to xerox them and put them in your newsletter or we can special order a larger supply.
Announce gifts to the endowment fund from the pulpit. A gift to the church is a great witness to someone’s faith in God!
Talk about giving in your church - Sunday school classes, Administrative Board, Trustees, etc.
Have the Foundation run a seminar at your church on the basics of trust and estate planning and planned giving!
